El Tapeo Group has unveiled its latest culinary venture: D'Tapas by El Tapeo. Chef Alberto Izard began his culinary journey at the Escuela de Hostelería y Turismo de Madrid at 14, studying French, Traditional Spanish, and international cuisines. After earning his Higher Culinary Diploma, he refined his Mediterranean cuisine skills at renowned restaurants like Castello 9 and 1 MICHELIN-starred Cenador de Salvador.
Alberto then became the chef at Hotel Melia Madrid Princesa, specialising in French and Mediterranean dishes for a decade. He also worked part-time at 2 MICHELIN-starred Sant Celoni and 1 MICHELIN-starred Coque, enhancing his culinary and organisational skills.
He later joined Pastelerías Mallorca, a prestigious deli and catering company, where he served as executive chef and led research and development for 10 years. Before moving to Southeast Asia, Alberto managed product development for Mercadona, a major supermarket chain. After exploring Thailand, he took on executive chef roles at an Italian restaurant in Bangkok and a hotel chain in Chiang Mai before opening El Tapeo and then El Tapeo Group.
