A new spa, YHI, has opened at Meliá Chiang Mai, including treatments fit for every age, every gender and everyone. YHI Spa features seven treatment rooms designed with an underwater theme and a Thai herbal sauna and steam.
YHI Spa was inspired by YHI, a sun goddess responsible for life and light in the mythology of the Karraur tribe in Australia. According to mythology, in the beginning, the world lay quiet, in utter darkness. YHI was awoken from her slumber by the great spirit Baiame, and as her eyes opened, the darkness was dispelled. She floated down to earth and walked in all directions, and wherever her feet touched the ground, grass, shrubs, and trees sprang from it. She took her light into the earth's caverns and brought out water, fishes, insects, birds, and animals.
Like YHI, the spa's mission is to restore life to tired guests, combining ancient Asian healing wisdom with modern wellness techniques to give them satisfying and efficient results. The spa menu has a broad spectrum of treatments, including massages, body scrubs and wraps, facials, hydrotherapy, manicures and pedicures.
Recommended YHI Spa Menu started with YHI Spa's 90-minute signature treatment, which begins with Tok Sen. This ancient Northern Thai massage relaxes the muscles with the rhythmic tapping motion of a wooden hammer and a stick made from a tamarind tree. It then transitions into a Spanish oil massage that reduces cellulite, tightens flabbier skin, and relieves fatigue, tension, and muscle spasms.
For a couple, "Couple Indulgence" is a perfect treatment. The treatment begins with a private skinny-dipping in a milky bath before getting an aromatic massage. This treatment is like shooting two birds with one stone. The couple will receive not only relaxation and rejuvenation but also spending quality intimacy with each other.
Of course, children aren't forgotten. YHI Spa has a treatment fit for children aged six to twelve; a 45-minute or 60-minute “Kids Therapy” aims to prevent hyperactivity. The therapy starts with stretching and animal yoga poses before a gentle massage with HARNN coconut oil which is gentle on children's skin.
The person who oversees YHI Spa's daily operations as well as developing an extensive spa menu based on organic Thai wellness brand HARNN's products is Thai national Pornphan Chumjai, who has experience with high-profile hotels for almost 15 years.
If you happen to stay in Meliá Chiang Mai, why don't you try some of those treatments on the menu?
