Held at THAI's Maintenance Hangar at Suvarnabhumi Airport, the event provided an impressive backdrop for showcasing the enhancements made to the Royal Silk Class cabin. Attendees were able to explore the upgraded amenities, which include more spacious seating, enhanced privacy features, and state-of-the-art entertainment options—all aimed at elevating the experience for discerning travellers. Through this event, THAI underscored its dedication to passenger comfort and satisfaction while reaffirming its position as a leading airline in the competitive aviation industry.

During the event, Mr Korakot Chatasingha emphasised THAI's commitment to its Commercial Excellence strategy, which aims to drive sustainable revenue and profitability. He stated, "In 2024, we implemented our 'One THAI One Fly' campaign, successfully integrating Thai Smile Airways into the THAI brand. This initiative has resulted in remarkable improvements in revenue and aircraft utilisation, all while creating a seamless travel experience for our passengers."


The newly designed Royal Silk Class aboard the A320 aircraft exemplifies THAI's commitment to product and service innovation, focusing on a customer-centric approach that significantly enhances the overall travel experience. This thoughtfully executed upgrade illustrates THAI's dedication, as Thailand's flag carrier, to elevate air travel standards, especially on short-haul routes where comfort and convenience are essential.

The cabin is meticulously designed to offer a range of premium services, featuring spacious, ergonomically crafted seating that prioritises passenger comfort, allowing travellers to relax during their journeys. In-flight entertainment has been upgraded to provide state-of-the-art options, ensuring passengers can enjoy a diverse selection of films, music, and games tailored to their preferences. Additionally, the culinary experience has been elevated with exquisite dining choices, offering a variety of international and local delicacies prepared by renowned chefs.


Exclusive privileges will further enhance the Royal Silk Class experience, including amenities such as priority boarding and increased baggage allowance, making every journey memorable and luxurious, whether it's a domestic flight or an international trip. This exceptional service was launched in January and is set to be rolled out across all 20 aircraft by the second quarter of this year, reaffirming THAI's commitment to providing an unforgettable travel experience for all its passengers.


The new Royal Silk Class cabin features 12 premium seats arranged in a comfortable 2-2 configuration across the first three rows. Each thoughtfully designed seat offers ample personal space, complete with adjustable headrests and leg rests for optimal comfort. Additionally, the seats come with foldable tray tables for meals and personal device use, along with conveniently positioned cup holders by the armrests.

A standout feature of THAI's A320 aircraft is the wireless entertainment system, making THAI the first airline in Thailand to provide this service in every seat on domestic routes, available on selected flights. Passengers can enjoy a variety of content on their personal devices. Royal Silk Class passengers will also indulge in gourmet meals and a curated beverage selection. On flights longer than 3.5 hours, they will receive exclusive amenity kits designed by Jim Thompson, showcased in 12 unique designs that beautifully reflect Thai heritage.


Royal Silk Class passengers are offered an exceptional travel experience filled with a multitude of exclusive privileges designed to elevate their journey. Upon arrival at the airport, they can take advantage of the Fast Track immigration service, which allows them to bypass long lines and swiftly clear customs. Priority Boarding ensures they board the aircraft first, settling into their spacious seats with ease, while Priority Baggage handling guarantees that their luggage is among the first to appear on the carousel upon arrival.


Before their flights, passengers can unwind in the exquisite Royal Orchid Lounge, a tranquil oasis where they can enjoy complimentary snacks, beverages, and comfortable seating, all while overlooking the bustling airport activity. The ambience is perfect for relaxation or catching up on work, making it a highlight of the travel experience.


In terms of baggage, Royal Silk Class offers a generous checked baggage allowance of 40 kg, allowing travellers to bring everything they might need for both business and leisure, alongside an additional 7 kg for carry-on items — ideal for keeping essentials close at hand. Moreover, passengers can earn between 125% to 150% bonus Royal Orchid Plus miles, a fantastic reward for frequent travellers eager to accumulate points for future adventures.

This premium service is available on the A320 aircraft across eight domestic routes, connecting Bangkok with some of Thailand's most captivating destinations. Expanding beyond domestic travel, Royal Silk Class also serves a remarkable 22 international destinations throughout Asia, allowing passengers to explore the dynamic cultures of Taipei in Taiwan, the bustling streets of Hong Kong, and the historical realms of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. They can also set their sights on vibrant Indonesia, diverse Malaysia, cosmopolitan Singapore, and the rich heritage of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
